Volunteer Community House Warden

A new and unique opportunity has opened up within Church Mission Society as a Volunteer CMS Community House Warden. The house provides accommodation for mission partners in training built around the experience of being part of a missional community committed to prayer, learning, and participation in mission. The house can accommodate up to 12 people at any one time.

This volunteer opportunity is ideal for those who have been a part of the CMS community and are looking for a way to get more actively involved alongside existing paid work. Working with the Mission Education team and supported by the Head of Facilities, it is expected that The Volunteer Community House Warden will be responsible for welcoming new arrivals to the Community House, offering pastoral care and guidance to the residents, and overseeing the practical running of the house.

The Community House Warden Volunteer is part time with an expectation to live within the community. It is non salaried and provides free accommodation, including usual utility bills.

It is expected that the successful volunteer has significant experience of living cross culturally. It is also an expectation that the Community House Warden Volunteer is a committed and practicing Christian who is dedicated to the values of CMS and the CMS community, and who demonstrates CMS’ commitment to praying for, learning from, and participating in mission.  It is expected that he/she will live in the community and available for  evenings and some weekends.

It is also a requirement for this post holder to be a committed and practising Christian committed to Church Mission Society's values and aims.
