Chaplaincy route

Chaplaincy route

Chaplaincy is one of the fastest growing areas of ministry, but potentially one of the least understood and under resourced

At CMS we recognise the value of chaplaincy, and the value of specific education for chaplains, taught by chaplains.

As part of our pioneer programme you can focus specifically on chaplaincy.

Each module you’ll get the opportunity to view through the lens of chaplaincy, along with a specific module exploring the importance of chaplaincy in contemporary Christian mission.

We will consider the theology of chaplaincy, the history of chaplaincy in the UK and how chaplaincy might be both missional and pioneering.

We will also have experienced practitioners from different sectors come in to share their wisdom.

And together we’ll reflect on the essential skills necessary in being a chaplain and how this ministry fits into the wider context of the function and place of church in society.

Ann-Marie Wilson

“It’s given me more confidence, hearing from people in different contexts and how creative we can be…”

Ann-Marie, Charity founder, campaigner and chaplain
