Greenbelt 2025!

Greenbelt 2025!

CMS head to Greenbelt to discuss pioneering mission, mission beyond empire and to connect with new and old friends

By Cathy Ross,

A team of six of us will be on the CMS stand at different times during the festival and would really love to meet up, chat and catch up.

Do bring along anyone who might be interested in pioneering mission in any way to see us. We actually have some bursaries about to land for youth, children and family ministry training. So, if you are in that space or know anyone else who is come along and sign up to train with us from September. Be quick as places are filling up!

There’s a full range of events and activities to attend at Greenbelt, come and join in:

  • Mission beyond empire

Harvey Kwiyani has a book out that will land by Greenbelt called Decolonising Mission – we can’t wait! He is on a panel with Cathy Ross and Peniel Rajkumar at 11:15 am on Friday 22 where they will be discussing “Unthinking the West: Mission Beyond Empire”. See more info on the panel discussion.

  • Pioneer meet up

Our friends Ash and Anj Barker will be hanging out at the URC tent go and say hi. We’re hosting another Pioneer meet up at 2pm on Sunday 24: Meet outside the URC tent and we can sit and chat under the trees. Come and share your heart and ideas and listen to others there’s no agenda beyond that!

  • An expansive table

Ash and Anj, and Jonny, will be leading a discussion on pioneering and the future of church. It will be round tables in the URC venue on Saturday at 4pm.

It’s called “An expansive table: Decolonizing the future of the church.”

(Jonny adds: “It sounds like I am trying to jump on Harvey’s theme of decolonising but I didn’t come up with the title, honest!”) Find out more information on the Greenbelt website.

  • Pioneer sessions in Hope and Anchor

While we are on all things pioneering, our Methodist friends at the Hope and Anchor are hosting three sessions at 10am Friday; 10am Saturday; 11:30 am Sunday. Have a look at the website for more information on the sessions about community organising, pioneering new Christian communities and communities of hope with those in recovery.

We look forward to seeing many of you over the Greenbelt weekend.
