US: a tragic anniversary

On the 25th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11, we hold in prayer every family living with the loss of friends and loved ones. We pray for Jesus, Prince of Peace, to be present with all those who grieve today. And we pray that the church will be agents of healing, justice and hope across every nation. In a world still fractured by fear, violence and division, we also pray for CMS partners on the frontlines of peacemaking – that they will faithfully bear witness to God’s love.

CMS-Africa ask for prayer as they recruit a new international director and an accountant. Pray for God to lead the right people to apply for these positions and for wisdom for everyone involved in the interview and selection process. Pray also for suitable tenants to be found for CMS-Africa’s vacant office spaces in Kenya.

Nepal, Tibet: flooding aftermath

Please stand with Asia-CMS in prayer for people in Nepal and Tibet following flooding at the border on 26 August. More than 1,300 people were killed and 5,000 people are still missing. Pray for hope and stamina for rescue workers who are still looking for survivors, and for safe access to isolated and unreached communities. […]

Paraguay: gathering for meetings

Pray for CMS staff and partners from around the world currently gathered in Paraguay for meetings and an exchange of learning. Pray for relationships to be strengthened as people eat together, worship alongside each other and learn from each other.

South Sudan: working towards reconciliation

Praise God for recent peace rally meetings in Abyei and Twic communities, which have helped to calm tensions between the communities and encouraged people to actively pursue peace. Pray for these efforts to contribute to reconciliation and lasting peace.
