Advent resource 2026: Like the Winter Rains

Like the Winter Rains:

seeing longed-for breakthroughs at the edges

“Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” – Hosea 6:3

As we look toward the end of another tumultuous year, are you feeling a bit parched? Thirsty for hope? For peace? Are you growing weary of waiting for some kind of breakthrough or change in your life, family or community?

We know how you feel.

Mission is often about waiting… and waiting. And yet more waiting. And then, sometimes in small drops here and there, we begin to see God at work.

Our new four-part Advent series, Like the Winter Rains, will take you to four places in our world where we are seeing hope and healing spring to life through years of prayer, faithful presence and trust in God. Each week you will be refreshed through scripture, practical prayer exercises and inspiring real-life stories from the edges.

So, if you are sensing your soul is wrung out from relentless news headlines, doom scrolling or everyday pressure, join with us this Advent in a season of holy expectation.

Together, we will encourage each other to spot God’s grace breaking into our lives, our communities and our world – like steady soaking rain on dry ground.
