for Goma
Our brothers and sisters serving in Goma, DR Congo need your help – urgently.
Our brothers and sisters serving in Goma, DRC need your help – urgently.
In the past few weeks, violent conflict has engulfed the area of Goma, DRC.
As M23 rebels have closed in and taken over the city, thousands of people have been displaced.
Our partners tell us:
- Women have been raped and murdered.
- Basic supplies are dwindling.
- Children everywhere are fearful and traumatised.
People are looking to our colleagues for comfort and hope.

“The scale of suffering is immense. People are terrified, and the needs are overwhelming. But even in this darkness, the Church is standing as a place of refuge and hope.”
Martin Gordon, CMS mission partner and Bishop of Goma
Your emergency donation will help raise £20,000 towards the following, through our local partners in Goma:
- 100 of the most vulnerable households will receive food and hygiene kits they need right now. These are people who have lost loved ones in the violence and whose houses have been destroyed or looted.
- 900 people with serious injuries will receive immediate pastoral care and vital trauma support to cope with what they have endured
- Continuing, every day, to share the love of Jesus with people who need his comfort and peace
Even as the crisis worsens, our colleagues in Goma sense they are being ignored by the media and the world. Our partner Samuel told us: “Your compassion goes straight to our hearts.”
Whatever you can give at this time will be gratefully received and faithfully used to comfort suffering people who have seen far too much war.
