Summer appeal 2026: Lebanon

We are unsure about tomorrow. We live day by day.”

“What we are witnessing is almost impossible to put into words…

“Since recent airstrikes people in Lebanon have fled to find safety and, when they are able to return, they discover their homes no longer exist. It’s not just the scenes of devastation, but also the sounds, the fear and immense feeling of loss.

“Yet as Christians in Lebanon we feel we must respond and we are responding.” These are the words of Jad, who works for CMS, based in his homeland of Lebanon.

Your gift will help local Christians feed 1,000 homeless families, provide life’s essentials and support their deeper needs for the long term. Every pound helps.

Gratitude and grief

We are living between gratitude and grief – grateful to have survived but in grief at the great loss around us.”

Our partners tell us people in Lebanon are grateful to still be alive, but grieving for the loss all around them. Many people have lost family members and homes; everyone has lost any sense of stability they had a few months ago.

“We don’t just need food – we need peace inside”

Since the airstrikes began in February, hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes in search of safety amid ongoing violence. Our church partners are doing their best to respond to the crisis, providing a lifeline of physical relief and spiritual refuge.

How will my gift be used?

  • 70% of donations will be used for emergency food packs, blankets and medicine
  • 30% of donations will be used for ongoing trauma support and long-term discipleship

Too much destruction… and too little relief

emergency services and civilians attempt to sort through piles of rubble
dust cloud rises on hillside as a bomb explodes

family receive emergency food sacks

Your support is needed urgently.

There is a continuing need for emergency food parcels – and much more. In the face of constant uncertainty, anxiety and fear, people are desperate for true peace, which we believe only Jesus brings. Your gift will also help build up the church to be alongside people on the long road back to recovery.

How we’re responding

CMS partners are helping as many people as they can through:

  • blankets and emergency food packs
  • medicine
  • trauma support

Give today to be part of this response and make a difference to people at the edges in Lebanon.

Who we’re working with

Our partners in Lebanon are leaders and members of local churches. For their safety, we can’t share their names. We have worked with many of them for several years and are proud to stand with them.

Our partners are doing everything they can to support people, but they themselves are living through the same crisis. Please help them respond even as they suffer alongside others.

How you can pray

Pray on your own, with your small group or lead a time of prayer at your church. Your prayers make a difference and our partners often tell us how encouraged they are to know we are praying for them and with them.

Seven days of prayer for people in Lebanon

God of hope,
We pray for justice and mercy from heaven above, as we
see no justice around.
We pray for your comfort for all those who have lost
loved ones and the families who have lost their children,
parents and property.
We pray for the Christian community to be able to
support and provide for those who need help.
We pray for healing… the situation is beyond words.
We pray for all the enemies of our beloved country: may
they see what damage they are bringing to the people
and the land. May we know the Prince of Peace who can
give his peace.
Amen.
