Ukraine: 1,000 days of war
A video message for you from local partners Valery Alymov and Anya Manchuliak and prayer points from mission partner Alison Giblett
As Ukraine marks 1,000 days since the Russian invasion our local partners Valery Alymov and Anya Manchuliak have sent a video message to CMS supporters.
Please pray for them and mission partner Alison Giblett, who serves alongside them.
Their message expresses the hopes of faithful Ukrainian Christians as they seek to serve their fellow citizens, including Valery’s work as a military chaplain.
Valery speaks movingly of his assurance of Christ’s presence with them and the hope they receive from Christ’s victory.
We invite you to join us in prayer:
- Pray that all people across the region, including the troops and fearful citizens, may know, in Valery’s words, “the fullness of God’s peace”.
- Please pray for Valery, Anya, Alison and all the people of Ukraine as the weather is much colder with snow coming, making conditions more difficult for everyone.
- Energy infrastructure was attacked this week, rocket attacks continue and power cuts happen. When the Metro (underground) is not functioning (e.g. in a power cut) bus travel is much more time consuming.
- People are feeling war weary. Stresses are unsurprisingly taking their toll, especially increasing sirens alerting possible rocket attacks and the sound of bombs.
- Pray too for the leaders of both Ukraine and Russia, that a just peace may soon be reached and the appalling loss of life on both sides may stop.
