Continue to pray for Brazil, where the election and subsequent installation of Lula da Silva as president has proved very divisive. Some supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro do not accept the results of the elections and several thousand stormed the Congress and supreme court on 8 January in continued protest. Pray for peace and for healing for Brazil and for wise leaders to make decisions for the best of their country.
A ceasefire came into force on Monday evening and the last few days has seen relative peace for the first time in five weeks, though sporadic artillery fire can still be heard in Khartoum, according to residents. Please pray for the ceasefire to hold and for peace to come to this nation.
