Please pray for the people of Ecuador, where violence continues as drug trafficking gangs fight with the state authorities. Recently nearly 60 prison guards were taken hostage by imprisoned gang members although they were later released. Pray too for the country as it approaches its presidential election final run-off vote in mid-October. May the right person be chosen to lead the country as it faces many security challenges. In the midst of these challenges praise God that mission partner Sharon Wilcox has trained leaders to run an Orchid project at a church in Quito, teaching life skills to people with disabilities, and pray for her as she travels to Cuenca on 18 September to do the same at the church where Bev Cannon serves with her husband Johnny.
