Middle East: translation trickiness

Middle East: translation trickiness

From a mission partner couple who must remain anonymous: “We are working in the Middle East (sorry, we can’t be more specific) doing Bible translation, and we ask for prayer: today a local man reviewing the translation of the Sermon on the Mount commented that it was not possible for your right hand to cause you to stumble – surely the text must mean the right foot? Please pray for the team to find good ways to translate idioms and metaphors which will really speak to people and to be able to get more local people involved in the project despite the difficulties of travel.”
