Nepal, Tibet: flooding aftermath

Please stand with Asia-CMS in prayer for people in Nepal and Tibet following flooding at the border on 26 August. More than 1,300 people were killed and 5,000 people are still missing. Pray for hope and stamina for rescue workers who are still looking for survivors, and for safe access to isolated and unreached communities. Pray for Asia-CMS as they coordinate with local partners and churches who are responding to the crisis on the ground, and for all Christian responders to reflect Jesus’ compassion and hope through practical service. Pray for God’s comfort for those who are grieving and waiting for news of missing relatives, and for hope for families facing the loss of their homes, land and livelihoods.

Pray for CMS staff and partners from around the world currently gathered in Paraguay for meetings and an exchange of learning. Pray for relationships to be strengthened as people eat together, worship alongside each other and learn from each other.

South Sudan: working towards reconciliation

Praise God for recent peace rally meetings in Abyei and Twic communities, which have helped to calm tensions between the communities and encouraged people to actively pursue peace. Pray for these efforts to contribute to reconciliation and lasting peace.
