Ukraine: 1,000 days of war
On Tuesday, Ukraine marked 1,000 days since the Russian invasion. Our local partners Valery Alymov and Anya Manchuliak, with mission partner Alison Giblett, invite us to pray:
- Pray that all people across the region, including the troops and fearful citizens, may know, in Valery’s words, “the fullness of God’s peace”.
- Please pray for Valery, Anya, Alison and all the people of Ukraine as the weather is much colder with snow coming, making conditions more difficult for everyone.
- Energy infrastructure was attacked this week, rocket attacks continue and power cuts happen. When the Metro (underground) is not functioning (e.g. in a power cut) bus travel is much more time consuming.
- People are feeling war weary. Stresses are unsurprisingly taking their toll, especially increasing sirens alerting possible rocket attacks and the sound of bombs.
- Pray too for the leaders of both Ukraine and Russia, that a just peace may soon be reached and the appalling loss of life on both sides may stop.
