Ukraine update 15 February

We continue to pray for CMS people in mission in Ukraine, who have been sharing the love of Jesus in tense and fearful times. Will you please join us in praying:
- For more de-escalation and peace to prevail
- For many churches in Ukraine who are joining together in regular prayer and fasting. From our partner: “The church is convinced that this is a time for a harvest and that they must stand against any feeling of fear. Pray that church members would have confidence to trust God and not feel fear and to share the Gospel. Pray that many at this time of uncertainty will follow Jesus.”

Japan: earthquake
Pray for people in Japan, where an earthquake has caused major damage and killed at least 30 people. More than 100 aftershocks have followed the initial earthquake and the country is also experiencing a heatwave. Thousands of displaced people are now staying in evacuation centres, over 30,000 households have been left without electricity, and search-and-rescue
Kenya: CMS-Africa international office
CMS-Africa ask for prayer for suitable tenants to come forward to lease office space in their building. Please pray for them also as they seek new people to join the CMS-Africa team – people who are committed to Jesus and to making disciples at the edges.
South Sudan: improving healthcare for babies
Doctor Nicci Maxwell lives in Juba, where she trains and supports local paediatric teams and provides medical care for local and refugee communities. She asks for prayer for two medical officers to come and work on the neonatal unit at Al Sabbah Hospital for at least a year so she can train them well and
UK: mission partners on leave
Many CMS mission partners are currently on UK leave, trying to fit in as many church visits as possible as well as spending time with family and friends, and trying to find some time to rest. Pray for opportunities to recharge amid the busyness and to be able to return to overseas locations feeling refreshed.
