“We should all be sharing the good news of the gospel. It’s all about Jesus.”

These were the words of Iver, a man sat on a dusty road in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Our mission partners Andrew and Lisa Peart had just offered him some freshly baked bread – but he asked them to give it to someone more in need. And to keep sharing the gospel.
Wow, what a response: an encouragement to all of us to keep sharing both literal bread and the Bread of Life – Jesus.
I’m asking you today to give to CMS and together, be part of sharing both kinds of bread in these extraordinary times. Since lockdown began in Bolivia, Andrew and Lisa (who are normally involved in a variety of activities) have been loving their neighbours in a simple, powerful way – baking bread rolls for ten households a day and being guided by local people to the most in-need families.
There’s a note attached to each portion that shares about Jesus – the Bread of Life. People are being fed, both physically and spiritually, thanks to Andrew and Lisa’s willingness to adapt. And through giving to CMS today, you can be with them as they traverse the streets of their neighbourhood, delivering both food and hope.
Andrew and Lisa are two of the hundreds of CMS people in mission around the world and in the UK who are being faithful witnesses to Christ’s love – through word and action – in a time when we know people are both physically and spiritually hungry.
But they can only keep doing so through the gifts and prayers of God’s people.
So I’m asking you today to give to CMS and be part of sharing not just bread – but the Bread of Life. Please be there so we can be there.
In Christ,
Alastair Bateman

PS I’ve never met Iver, but I’m so grateful for his powerful prompt to keep sharing the Bread of Life – a fantastic encouragement to us all! We can keep doing this together, around the world, with your help.
