Are you willing to serve?

CMS is looking for people to serve on its board of trustees.

Please prayerfully consider whether you or anyone you know has the skills and experience to be part of the CMS board of trustees.

The trustees are responsible for ensuring the charity fulfils its purpose with clear direction while meeting all the required standards, and it is therefore important that the board includes people with an appropriate breadth and depth of experience.

Former mission partners, or people involved in mission as members of the community, would be welcome.

We also hope the election will result in a board that continues to seek diversity of background such as gender, age and ethnicity.

Is God calling you to be a CMS trustee? If you or someone you know has the appropriate skills and experience, please apply using the form below.

If you would like more information please contact Sue Sinclair on 01865 787402 or by email

Closing date

Please apply by midnight on 14 August 2022. Send your application to Strictly Confidential, Sue Sinclair, Church Mission Society, Watlington Road, Oxford, OX4 6BZ or to Sue on the email address above.

To apply

Candidates will need to be nominated by two members of CMS Limited. An appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service disclosure will be required, interviews will be held with members of the Nominations Committee and references will be taken up. The names of the candidates going forward to the membership for election in the autumn will be at the board’s sole discretion.

Trustees are elected to serve for a minimum of four years. Candidates must be CMS members or indicate willingness to become members prior to election. The election will be conducted by postal ballot.

We would be grateful if you would also complete the equality and diversity monitoring form and return it separately to Human Resources Team, Church Mission Society, Watlington Road, Oxford, OX4 6BZ.
