Our partners with the Province of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan are looking for a vice chancellor for the new Episcopal University based in Juba. This is a Christian institution, but open to all.
The University is being formed by federation a number of existing educational establishments. The person appointed will lead the academic board in establishing the new University, which will aim at internationally recognised academic standards. Alongside this leadership role, the person appointed will mentor a South Sudanese national who will be able to take over the role. It is envisaged the post will be for three or four years.
The person appointed should be a practicing Christian who feels called to serve God in this way, in a country desperately in need of Higher Educational facilities. Experience of Academic Governance at a senior level will be important, and also a willingness to pioneer this work in the difficult circumstances of South Sudan. A small charity exists in UK to advise and support the work, and initial enquiries will be through them. More information is on www.ecsssup.org/.
Successful candidates will have relevant qualifications and experience.
