Meet some of our newest local partners!

We’re excited to introduce to you some of our newest local partners, spread across Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe, Middle East and North Africa.

Christ-centred training in Africa

Each of our new local partners in Africa is involved with CMS-Africa’s training, and is following their call to equip believers to live out the gospel in their everyday lives. CMS-Africa’s three foundational training courses are: Financial Freedom for Families (F4, a financial literacy course based on biblical principles), training specifically to help women reach their full potential, and 3D – Discover, Develop and Deploy (CMS-Africa’s youth programme, which helps young people to discover and step into their unique gifting).

Josias Nkusi

“I am passionate about reaching people for Jesus and helping people to live according to the Bible.”

Josias is a church pastor, who coordinates CMS-Africa’s activities in Rwanda, focusing on CMS-Africa’s three foundational training courses. In addition, Josias leads Business as Mission (BAM), an exciting movement which recognises business as a calling and encourages businesspeople to see themselves as full time ministers and the marketplace as a mission field.

Judith Murungi

“I want young people to be able to discover their potential”

Judith’s emphasis is on equipping leaders and potential leaders to fulfil their God-given mandate. She coordinates CMS-Africa’s activities in Uganda, supporting local partners and linking each one with CMS-Africa. Judith says, “Having only discovered my own calling after finishing university, I want young people to be able to discover their passions. Part of my role is as a trainer and coordinator for CMS-Africa’s training programme 3D. This training is instrumental in discipling young people and helping them discover their potential, who they are in the Lord and finding their place in mission.”

Michael Aban

“I am passionate about the CMS-Africa training because of its practicality.”

Michael equips men and women for ministry and to live out the gospel in their everyday lives in South Sudan. A Samaritan Strategy trainer and teacher with the Nile Theological College and a pastor with the Way of Life Congregation, he teaches theological and practical subjects to help people live out the gospel in their everyday lives.

Fighting oppression and bondage in Asia

There are several new local partners in Asia who, for their safety, we won’t mention online. But we are delighted to introduce…

Helen Avadiar-Nimbalker

“I partner with local organisations to share God’s love and inner healing with survivors of human trafficking.”

Helen has a heart to see God’s people live an abundant life free from oppression and bondage. Her passion is to delve deeper into the area of human trafficking and provide rehabilitation, counselling and inner healing to survivors. Helen began her ministry in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2018, where she has been developing a transformation programme designed to assist women who choose to leave the sex industry to start their lives over.

Advancing the gospel in Latin America

Based in Florianopolis and Recife respectively, Amanda Borges and Flavio Adair are both working to advance the gospel; Amanda through supporting church workers, Flavio through pastoring a local church.

Amanda Borges

“CMS’s support is such an expression of God’s care for his work.”

Amanda is involved in planning and implementing New Wine Discipleship Year at Vineyard Brazil, supporting current and future church workers as they train and explore God’s calling on their lives. Passionate about involvement in national and cross-cultural mission, Amanda is instrumental in making sure the programme runs smoothly, from academic content to practical issues such as student housing, making teaching materials available, scheduling and more.

Flavio Adair

Bishop Flavio preaching

“I am working to strengthen the gospel in the local community and plant new churches.”

Flavio has a call to see the Agua Viva community grow in faith and number and to see young people come to Christ. A former youth leader and more recently, auxiliary bishop, Flavio is now working out his call in a favella in Olinda, where the community faces many challenges. As rector of Agua Viva church, he is focusing on strengthening the gospel in the community, developing leaders and planting churches.

God on the move in Europe, Middle East and North Africa

In Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, our newest local partners are involved in connecting with people who are searching for God, coming alongside drug addicts on their difficult journey and giving young people the tools they need to reach others with the good news.

Medhat

“I am building a network of trusted volunteers ready to connect with people who are exploring faith.”

Medhat is building and maintaining a network of Christians in the Middle East who are ready to connect with seekers. TV and radio broadcasts prompt seekers to contact Medhat and his team, who then connect seekers with believers in their area who can help them on their faith journey and introduce them to other believers. Medhat trains and supports the volunteers who make up the network and follows up with individuals.

Oleg Kligman

“I want to help others find freedom, too.”

Oleg, a former drug addict himself, is passionate about inviting addicts into the glorious freedom Jesus offers and walking alongside them as they break free from addiction and rebuild their lives. Director of a Christ-centred rehab centre in Israel/Palestine, Oleg lives alongside rehabilitants, helping them to grow in Jesus through regular devotions and prayer as they work towards freedom.

Anya Manchuliak

“I want to show people that life with Christ brings hope and solutions, that there is a way out.”

Anya enables young people in Ukraine to reach their communities with the good news through her work of training young people, coordinating church and ministry connections and developing partnerships with other churches and missions. In this country, where many families are forced to live in horrible conditions and alcoholism and drug addiction are rife, Anya wants to share the hope of Christ with everyone.
