Alexei Nemchenko - Israel/Palestine

Drug addiction has penetrated all groups of Israeli society. Drug addicts lose all their possessions, their families and their health. They become the most vulnerable group of our society, for nobody really cares for them. They desperately need God, his love and his freedom.

I am in charge of the men’s rehabilitation centre for drug addicts and alcoholics in Beer-Sheva. I am responsible for the rehabilitation program of the centre that includes Bible studies, field trips, volunteering in the outreach centre in Tel Aviv, etc. I also take care of the supplies and maintenance of the centre.

Call

To help people who have been trapped in the net of addictions (just as I had been before God set me free)

Role

I provide our rehabilitants with proper living conditions in the rehab centre (food and other supplies, repairs, etc), as well as with spiritual support, Bible lessons several times a week, field trips and weekly opportunity to minister in the day outreach centre in Tel Aviv.

More about Alexei Nemchenko

Meet Alexei in this video about the ministry:

I am originally from Ukraine. I am a professional sailor and participated in Soviet military operations in Afghanistan. When the war was over I worked as a captain’s mate on a Ukrainian ship.

After immigrating to Israel in 1999 I lived a difficult, but quite successful life of a new immigrant, but then tragic events happened in my family and I started looking for comfort and escape from reality in alcohol.

My situation was becoming worse and worse until I turned to God for the first time in my life and in 2004 went to a rehab. God saved and restored me and now I want to serve him, helping other people who have been entrapped by addictions. I want them to find him and his freedom, so that he would change their lives as he has changed mine.

Aviv Ministry is happy to partner with Church Mission Society, as we are united by common goals: sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, discipling new believers and strengthening local leaders and ministers.
