Cerro Cachito, a shanty town in the Ventanilla district on the outskirts of the city of Callao (near Lima), has many spiritual and material needs. I am a church deacon covering the role of rector at the San Patricio mission, running a Sunday school group, a Sunday service, Bible studies and home visits, and a ministry with sick children.

More about David Gonzales
As church deacon, I am heavily invested in Sunday services. I also spend time visiting sick children with a church medical project and with church families for Bible study and fellowship. I coordinate church services and ministries, as well as running training courses on leadership and discipleship and working with our youth group. I hope to help the young people to grow in commitment to the Lord.
I came to know the Lord when I was a child and have always served God in my heart. At the age of 24 the Lord confirmed to me that I had a calling to church service. At that time I served in the work of different missions, always under the authority of the diocesan bishop; currently I am serving the poorest people of the city of Callao, in a shanty town called Cerro Cachito, Ventanilla.
I am confident in my fruitful work, forming new leaders, new pastors who will serve. I dream of having more people committed to the ministry.
