Florent’s story

I am passionate about seeing God transform the people of my community and of Madagascar. I believe the community will be transformed through every Christian being rooted in and transformed by Jesus, through holistic discipleship. My role is to spend time with local Christian leaders, praying with them and training them to become agents of transformation in their villages, to be witnesses to Christ and his love in every circumstance. Over time, I plan to train these new Christian leaders to lead and strengthen groups of believers and establish new communities of believers and disciples of Christ.

I was born into a non-Christian family and became a Christian as a young adult. The Lord has formed me gradually by calling me to serve him in our local church as youth leader, then as lay leader. The community sent me to be trained as a catechist and later on as an evangelist. Following my training, by the grace of God, I was able to build three new church communities.

Commitment and obedience are key words for me. When God called me to serve as an evangelism coordinator, then deacon and then discipleship coordinator, I was obedient and committed to each role, despite the fact I didn’t fully understand what lay ahead.

God has formed me further by showing me his presence and healing power through difficulties in my own life and also that of wife and my children.

To be part of CMS is to be part of the prayerful support of each other as we work together to fulfil the great mission of Christ.
