Paul and Regina Lueth, South Sudan
Church planting, training pastors and evangelists and teaching theology at St John’s Theological College in Wau
The South Sudan situation is really needy in terms of spiritual, social, economic and even political development, especially when one considers the aftermath of the more than 34 years of civil conflicts, besides the current conflict that begun in 2013.
Working with local churches we train pastors and evangelists and engage in evangelism, church planting and community mobilization and sensitization on peace and reconciliation.
The most immediate needs are spiritual revival of the church, family concerns that will require organised counselling, ethnic differences that will also require urgent intervention including peace building, mediation and forgiveness, and lastly poverty eradication that calls for community recovery programmes.

Paul and Regina’s story
Regina: I’m from St Paul’s University in Nairobi, Kenya where I have graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity and I have worked with Mothers’ Union from 2010 to 2012 as a supervisor in Wau Diocese under the Episcopal Church of South Sudan. The Lord has prepared me through training in the above mentioned University and where I have met various lecturers from different background, with various experiences and challenges, something that has deeply inspired me to carry out the mission work among our diverse ethnic communities in South Sudan.
Paul: I’m from St Paul’s University and Carlile College both in Nairobi, Kenya where I have graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Divinity and Diploma in Missiology. I have worked as a missionary in Darfur, Sudan from 2008 to 2009 and transferred to South Sudan Warrap State as coordinator from 2009 to 2012 under New Life Ministry. Later on I joined Samaritan’s Purse and worked with them from 2012 to 2013 as a supervisor. I also worked as a diocesan evangelism coordinator in Wau Diocese under the Episcopal Church of South Sudan from 2010 to date. I have worked as a teacher, a counsellor, and planting churches which have all inspired me to be part of Great Commission as instructed by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in Mathew 28:18–20.
Being part of CMS has been an encouragement to our calling and an inspiration to our studies: example the great work you do in the Africa has inspired us to carry out the great commission. I thank God for enabling you to stand with me and to support us in doing his work especially at a time like now when our country is facing numerous political, social and economic challenges.
