Africa Bears Witness
Africa Bears Witness
We were really excited to see this new book, Africa Bears Witness, from Harvey Kwiyani pop up in social media as having just come out. Of course Harvey was too modest to mention it!
by Jonny Baker,
I have ordered a copy which I am looking forward to reading. We have ordered a couple for the CMS library. But congrats to Harvey on another book.
This is an exciting time and Harvey is one of those really leading the charge on helping reflect on what witness looks like from different contexts round the world – as well as attempting to decolonise mission at the same time (by the way that’s the subject of his next book).
We’ll make sure this gets reviewed in Anvil. But get yourself a copy. It’s a collection of essays edited by Harvey, featuring theologians and mission practitioners from across Africa. He is on his way today to Kenya to speak in Nairobi at a conference.
We have our MA African Christianity route fully up and running now and an option at undergraduate level. This will no doubt be on the reading lists!
It carries a nice endorsement from Rt Rev Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy, the Bishop of Willesden, who calls it “an extraordinary gift” and “refreshingly bold and intelligent”.
