Mark Nam
Mark is chaplain to the Asian Christianity MA students at CMS and is a British born Chinese priest in the Diocese of Oxford.
Mark completed his MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission at Trinity College, Bristol in 2020. His dissertation was titled ‘Prophetic Dialogue, East-Asian Theology and the Changing Voice of Mission’.
He is founder of The Teahouse which raises the visibility and participation of Chinese-heritage clergy and laity in the Church of England. Mark is also a trustee for SPCK Publishing, and the Li Tim-Oi Foundation which provides grants to women in the Majority World to access theological training.
Mark was a recipient of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s 2023 Lambeth Award for his work in accordance with the Church’s teaching. He has written for The Canterbury Preacher’s Companion, Preach Magazine, and is a regular contributor to Premier Radio, UCB, and BBC Radio.
Mark is the vicar of St John’s, Woodley. He is married to Kayi and they have three children. He tweets @marknam.
