Values day
Discerning who we aspire to be for God and our community
Thriving congregations tend to be rooted in ongoing conversations about what kind of people they want to be for God in their local area. But those conversations can be difficult to start and navigate.
This online training day will give you the tools to ask the right questions, identify values and adopt them, along with indicators, as a congregation.

Who is it for?
This training day is specifically for church leaders (clergy, lay ministers, and church councillors/elders/ PCC members). The training is designed for church leadership teams to learn together and develop a process for developing values and indicators within their congregations. It’s ideal for those who have completed our First Steps training course but most churches will benefit from the day.
What can I expect?
Developing Values & Indicators has been the most requested topic for additional Pioneering Parishes training. This day will cover the theory but most importantly how you can put it into practice. There will be expert speakers, case studies, break out rooms for discussion and plenty of room for thought.
What content will be covered?
When you finish the training day, you will have:
- explored the purpose and practical principles of developing church values and indicators
- considered various frameworks for developing church values
- identified the strengths and limitations of these frameworks within your context
- designed an appropriate process for developing and agreeing values and indicators within your church.

Where is it?
Takes place via Zoom.
How much does it cost?
We would hate cost to be a barrier to anyone attending so we charge just £10 for the four webinars in total.
If you bring a team, the maximum your church will pay is for five spaces (£50), any additional participants are free.
The real cost for the facilitation and materials is much higher, so if you feel able to contribute a little more you will be helping to support the continuing work of Pioneering Parishes.
