Call of a lifetime: Audiomission July 2016

Last month we heard three stories of people putting their call into action. This month we continue the theme, seeing where that call can lead – across continents, across the years, and into a depth of understanding and insight.

My call: to promote use of the Holy Scriptures, making people wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ

“My aim is to help the Enxet and related indigenous Christians of the Paraguayan Chaco to better know the Lord through learning more about the Scriptures and what he says in them, so that people are better equipped in life. I want to look at creating biblical materials for children and adults, but will initially focus on visiting indigenous communities for Bible study. I also want to use the new Enxet Bible to help people outside the churches to hear God’s word and to put their trust in him.”

My call: Without me knowing it, God called me to mission!

Serah has just retired after a decade working with CMS-Africa, most recently as mission network manager. Among other things she has passionately advocated for Business as Mission and overseen an exchange programme between different dioceses in different African countries.

Our family’s call: to share God’s love with children in extreme poverty in practical ways.

Kate and Tim Lee are CMS mission partners based in Britain. They lived in Manila in the Philippines from 2003-2009. Together with members of a local squatter church, they formed Jigsaw Kids Ministry, which shares the love of Christ with children and families at risk from poverty and abuse. They now support Jigsaw from the UK and Tim visits the Philippines regularly.
