Prayer News 26 February 2021

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Europe, Middle East and North Africa

Ukraine: Genesis training

Mission partner Alison Giblett shares that COVID-19 numbers are down in Ukraine. Give thanks for this and for what God is doing through the Genesis training. Pray for spiritual protection on Genesis leaders and participants as they work towards freedom from addiction.

UK: SpiritSpace

Pray for SpiritSpace, a cross-Atlantic online gathering with which mission partner Andrea Campanale is involved. Once a month, people gather to engage with Christian videos that have reflections and meditations, as well as art prophecy, prayer ministry and more. The Zoom meeting has grown from a select few to nearer 50, with people tuning in from the US, UK, Australia and France. Pray for God to meet with people powerfully through this growing event.

Moldova: hoping to return

Pray for mission associate Sharon Rose as she seeks God for when to return to Moldova and her work with children with disabilities there.

DR Congo: new bishop of Goma

Mission associates Anthea and Martin Gordon in Goma write that a new Bishop of Goma is unlikely to be in place before the end of the year, citing a significant amount of reconciliation work required before election. Please pray for reconciliation and a path towards unity in the diocese.

Uganda: women’s training

Praise God for women’s training recently conducted in Mukono by local partner Judith Murungi. Pray for the 30 women who attended the training to clearly see how to apply their new knowledge in their local contexts and for God to prosper them.

South Sudan: local partners

Please pray for local partners Paul and Regina Lueth’s daughter Grace, who is sick with malaria. Pray for her complete healing and for peace of mind for Paul and Regina. Pray too for Regina as she starts teaching a two-week pastoral and leadership course; for energy, discernment, for productive interaction with the students and also for each participant to not only be hearers, but also doers.

Kenya: women’s training

Pray for upcoming training sessions for women on 26 February, 5 and 12 March in Dandora. Pray for trainers Esther and Stephen as they teach, and for participants to have their minds renewed and opened to possibilities as a result of the training.

Latin America

Ecuador and Paraguay: continued recovery from COVID-19

Mission partner Sharon Wilcox in Ecuador and mission associates Alison and Chris Hawksbee in Paraguay are all suffering from coronavirus. Please pray particularly for Alison, who is receiving treatment with large amounts of oxygen in hospital. We praise God that Chris Hawksbee is stable in hospital and that Sharon Wilcox appears to be recovering well. Please pray for complete recovery for each of them.

Brazil: ReVive girl in hospital with life-threatening condition

Pray for Maria Clara, a 10-year-old girl from ReVive (ministry led by mission partners Andy and Rose Roberts). Maria Clara has been in and out of hospital since Christmas with an unknown rheumatic condition. This has now caused MAS (macrophage activation syndrome) and her liver and spleen are in partial failure – this is a life-threatening condition. Please pray for healing, her treatment and that she and the staff looking after her 24/7 by her bedside may know the Lord’s peace during this difficult time.

South Asia: visa

Mission partner F asks for prayer for her new visa to come through (which she applied for in October). Pray for her visa to be issued quickly and that she will be able to begin planning for her home leave later this year.
