Pray for mission partners M and T working in Spain and North Africa. T is away for a month, training as a mountain guide. Pray that this training will open up new avenues for supporting people’s spiritual journeys, and for protection for T while travelling. Pray also for M and the children while T is away.
Nepal: preparing to return
Mission associates Dan and Phillipa Munday write that work in Nepal is gaining pace again, and that a recent appeal will enable significant palliative care development. Pray for Dan as he plans to lead the development of a rural palliative care model in Lamjung. Pray for Philippa as she prepares to work with 15 schools in the Lamjung district as part of the KISC EQUIP teacher training team. Pray for them as they prepare to travel to Nepal in October.

This week, President Jovenel Moise was assassinated by what appears to be professional contract killers, illustrating the fragility of government in a number of countries in the region. Haiti is also dealing with a wave of gang violence and kidnappings, particularly in the capital, and close to 60 per cent of the population is now living below the poverty line. Pray for help and comfort for all those who need it, and for wisdom for decision makers.
Chile: Constitutional Convention
Pray for the new Chilean Constitutional Convention which has begun work after electing its president, Mapuche linguist and indigenous rights activist Elisa Loncon. Mission partner Alf Cooper, in his role as protocolar representative of the Evangelical Churches to the government, has been working to bring a Christian voice to the convention, so do please pray for him and for that voice to be heard.
