Video: Mission myth-busting #5 – I do not have the right skills

Feel like you’re in the wrong profession? Don’t have the right skills for God to use you?

Regardless of our abilities, God wants to use us, whether that is through our professional skills or through our love and passion for others.

Number 5 in our series of videos busting some common myths that hold people back from getting involved in God’s mission.

Think about it

Feel like you’re in the wrong profession? Don’t have the right skills for God to use you? Think again!

In Luke 21:1-4 Jesus notices the tiny offering of a widow.

In the book of Judges, God chooses to use Gideon despite his status. When Gideon is visited by the angel of the Lord he responds like this: “How can I deliver Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family” (Judges 6:15). But God doesn’t see him like that: the angel greets him: “The Lord is with you, you mighty warrior” (Judges 6:12).

We don’t just offer our skills, we offer who we are. Is that really always enough?
