Uganda: refugees

Local partner Sam Malish asks for prayer for refugees who are forced to return to the country they have fled or are relocating because their food rations have been cut due to funding shortfalls. Pray for safety for those who are travelling, especially for those who are travelling through or returning to war zones.

DR Congo: upcoming training

Local partner and country coordinator Jeff Sikabwe asks for prayer for training taking place this week in Beni diocese. Pray for Jeff in his role as a facilitator and for those participating in the training, including local partner Etsegeri Emmanuel from Aru diocese.

DR Congo: ongoing conflict 

Local partner Bisoke Balikenga asks for prayer in the midst of ongoing violence. Following a recent attack, more than 41 people were reported killed, and more bodies are still being found in the bush. Bisoke writes, “The people are really exhausted due to the incessant violence. Please pray, pray, pray.”   

Burundi: strengthening Christian values

The Anglican Church of Burundi writes that young people testify that Christian values are being challenged in the face of the alternative life choices offered by the world. Pray for young Christians in Burundi as they strive to live in accordance with the Bible and work to strengthen Christian values through training and activities.

Uganda: moving in

Mission partners Sarah and Simon Cawdell have just moved into their own house. Praise God for this practical aspect of life falling into place. Pray for Sarah and Simon as they make this house their home for as long as God wants them to be there.

Tanzania: medical treatment

Please pray for mission partners Ben and Katy Ray and their three children while Katy is in South Africa for a few weeks for medical treatment. Pray for Katy’s treatment to be successful and for Ben as he holds the fort and cares for their three children in Usa River in northern Tanzania.

Sudan: escalation of fighting

In Khartoum, the recent ceasefire expired last weekend and fighting has since escalated again. Please pray for humanitarian aid to reach all those who need it, and for peace and stability in Sudan.

DR Congo: visas received

Praise God that mission associates Judy and Tim Rous have received their five-year missionary visas for DRC. Pray for Judy and Tim next week as they have a two-day diocesan staff meeting followed by an all staff day retreat.
