Anthropology and Christian Mission

An introduction to culture, context and worldview. You will develop your own reflexive capacity in relation to your cultural background and behaviour. This module is replaced by Advanced Topic in African or Asian Church History if you are following the African or Asian Christianity routes.

Reflective Practice: Chaplaincy

Study chaplaincy in the context of contemporary understandings of Christian mission, and its cultural and ecclesial context, in order to reflect on the distinctive nature of chaplaincy as a genre of Christian ministry. Students will be encouraged to share their practice.

Justice, Environment and Mission in a Global Context

Examine Christian engagement in issues of justice, development and the environment, addressing theology and missional practice, and reflect on the implications in your own context.

Theological Perspectives: Community Development

This module offers space for dialogue and theological reflection on approaches to community development, as well as opportunities to study and visit specific initiatives.

The Bible in Christian Faith

Explore key themes and critically examine major thinkers in the study of both Old and New Testaments and think about the impact of these for our faith.
