Pray for people in Venezuela, which has been thrown into political turmoil after dictator Nicolás Maduro was deposed by US forces on 3 January. Delcy Rodríguez is serving as the country’s interim president, while opposition leader María Corina Machado is advocating for her coalition to be in charge of the country. Pray for a peaceful resolution to the current unrest and a clear way forward.

Please pray for elections in Venezuela this Sunday, 28 July. May there be free and fair elections where the will of the people is heard and implemented. Two candidates are running – incumbent president, Nicolás Maduro and united opposition candidate Edmundo González (two other opposition candidates have already been barred from participating). Please pray for the right candidate to be chosen and for peace, as there are fears of protests and violence when the result is announced. Please pray for peace. In addition, 7.7 million Venezuelans have left Venezuela seeking a better life as the economic and political situation in the country has deteriorated. Pray that all the people of Venezuela may be able to flourish and know the abundant life that Jesus offers.
