TRUSTEES

Rev Canon John Kafwanka Kaoma

Until recently, John worked for the global Anglican Communion for 14 years at its Secretariat in London, and 11 of these years as director for mission. In this role, John undertook extensive travels to support church leadership at all levels in their mission work.

Previously, John served as principal of the national Anglican theological seminary in Zambia before working for CMS as regional manager for Southern Africa, supporting church leaders in Angola, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia.

In his 28 years of ordained ministry, John has served parishes in Australia, Zambia, and UK, where he is presently a vicar in west London.

John has served on various commissions and boards of national, ecumenical, and international institutions pertaining to education, family, the environment, interfaith and Christian mission.
John is a foundation trustee of a respite centre for the elderly, and a foundation governor of a local CofE school.

Christian mission having been the main priority for John’s working life, he is pleased to be invited back to CMS to serve as a co-opted trustee and looks forward to contributing to the vision and mission of one of the oldest mission agencies.
