This Christmas, you can invite everyone…

“When you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind; and you will be blessed, because they are not able to pay you back. God will repay you on the day the good people rise from death.”
Luke 14:13–14, Good News Translation

Too many people are told they aren’t welcome at the feast.

Because they have physical or mental health struggles. Because they don’t fit in. Because people would rather ignore them than invite them.

We think that’s wrong. We know you do too.

You can help make sure everyone is invited to the feast, including people like Athuman, who was told he needed to be more “normal”.

In Tanzania, people like Athuman are often excluded from life because they have disabilities. Many disabled people are left to beg on the streets because people assume they can’t work or learn. Sometimes their families hide them away out of shame.

When Athuman was born with a disability, his parents didn’t know what to do with him. From an early age, his passion in life has been to dance, to entertain people. But his brother told him he needed to get a “normal” job.

At only three feet tall, Athuman wasn’t sure what kind of “normal” work he could do; he couldn’t see himself farming like many other young men in the area.

Athuman heard about Neema Crafts, which is led by CMS mission partners Ben and Katy Ray. Neema crafts trains and employs people with disabilities. They have craft workshops, a shop, café and guesthouse.

But it was the fact that Neema “seemed just like a big family” that appealed most to Athuman. A place where he could be loved and accepted for who he is. He was thrilled when Ben and Katy offered him a job.

“Athuman is now the life and soul of the Neema Crafts shop and travels with us whenever we have a show or market, making customers happy,” say Ben and Katy.

Ben and Katy invited Athuman to the feast. They are showing the local community that having a disability doesn’t mean someone isn’t capable. And that Jesus loves us all.

Please join us this Christmas and support CMS people in mission like Ben and Katy who are including the excluded:

Your gift of £10 could help Ben and Katy welcome others like Athuman into an environment where they can truly flourish
Your gift of £25 could help someone else like Athuman to learn carpentry so he and his family can afford three square meals a day
Your gift of £50 could support Ben and Katy to offer a job to someone else like Athuman

Donate today and make sure everyone’s invited
