Last chance to give: help bring healing to lives wrecked by war
- £10 could help people like Sadia continue to work through their trauma and help others to do the same, over Christmas and beyond
- £50 could enable local partners to walk alongside both new and renewed Christians as they journey with Jesus
- £100 could support more trauma healing and reconciliation work with men, women and children who are still trapped in their pain
Sadia lost her home and most of her family to brutal conflict in South Sudan.
Sadia’s trust in people was deeply shaken after her husband left her and their three children. Her brothers stepped in to help, but then war broke out and they fled with their families. Sadia and her children found themselves alone.
Then one day, a little audio player found its way into Sadia’s hands.
And when she pressed play, her life was changed forever…
Sadia heard the Bible story of Joseph being abandoned by his brothers.
She said it was like listening to her own story.

Spreading peace and hope
“Joseph was betrayed by his own family but chose to forgive his brothers,” she says, “and because of his attitude, by allowing himself to go through the tough road, the situation changed. I’m convinced that God may change my story…”
Through engaging with Joseph’s powerful story of forgiveness, Sadia encountered the Prince of Peace.
Now, she is sharing her story to encourage and disciple others. Her newfound peace and hope are transforming people around her.
Making it possible: Sam
This story wouldn’t have been possible without the trauma healing work of CMS local partner Sam Malish.
He gets groups of people together to listen to each other’s stories and face their pain.
And when COVID-19 made this much more difficult, he started sharing audio content by giving out small digital players.
People who have suffered trauma through war, abandonment and conflict need to find the peace that Jesus brings.
Your gift to our Christmas Appeal will help our local partners bring the peace of Christ into lives torn apart by conflict.
Please give now to support CMS local partners like Sam.
