What could you give to help struggling women discover their precious worth in Jesus?
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come in order that you might have life – life in all its fullness.”
John 10:10 (GNT)
We need your help to stop the thief who steals and kills and destroys.
A thief who is particularly obsessed with wrecking women’s lives.
This thief recently tried to destroy Bhoke and her three children in Musoma, Tanzania.
When Bhoke first arrived at the Rehema Project, where mission partner Heather Johnstone now works, her three-week old baby John was already glassy-eyed from malnutrition.
He was too weak to cry, but Bhoke cried for them both as she shared her story: abandoned by her husband to raise three children on her own and unable to run her small sweet potato business due to John’s difficult birth.
Where you are born, and whether you are born male or female, can feel like a lottery. Many girls in Tanzania have lost before their lives have even begun, purely by virtue of being female.
Bhoke and her children were being robbed of a chance at life and of hope.
But the team at the Rehema Project stopped the thief of joy.
They shared food with this family. They lent Bhoke money to start her small business again. She can now pay rent and feed her children.
She is full of smiles and thankful to God and the Rehema team for changing her life.
The thief was chased away and new life in Jesus was found. This chapter in Bhoke’s story has a happy ending. Yet there are women all over the world who are in the thick of facing down the thief who steals and kills and destroys – and they can’t win this battle alone.
£9 could pay one month’s rent for a family like Bhoke’s until she gets back on her feet
£27 could help kickstart a woman’s business
£48 could teach a woman a trade and enable her to become self-sufficient
By God’s grace and with your help, we can stop this thief and help these women live lives to the full.
